Title
Enamelled cast copper alloy button
Description
English: Possibly a small enamelled cast copper-alloy mount/decorative fitting (possibly a button or pin head?) dating from either the Late Iron Age/Roman period, i.e. c. 300BC-AD410, or the medieval period, i.e. c. AD1200-1500. The artefact is circular with a moulded quatrefoil in the centre of the obverse and remains of red enamel in the crevices between. The reverse is plain but in the centre are the remains/or the stump of a pin or loop, i.e. some kind of attachment device. Except for the missing loop or pin, the artefact is in good condition and complete.
