Title
Enameled Mount or Fitting from Preston
Description
English: Copper alloy with blue enamel

Fitting. Cast pin with round section shank of diameter 4.7mm, expanded to form a rounded flat-topped head which bears a single circular panel of degraded blue enamel of diameter 5.5mm. The lower end of the shank appears to bear three bands of screw thread, though the nature and condition of the object, and in particular the enamel, argues against this being a recent object.

Suggested date: Early Roman, 70-150.

Length: 25.4mm, Diameter (head): 9.9mm, Weight: 4.46gms.
