Description
Čeština: PhDr. Emil Hornig (26. července 1828, Vídeň – 5. ledna 1890) byl rakouský profesor chemie na vyšší střední škole v ulici Wien-Landstraße a děkan doktorského kolegia Filozofické fakulty v letech 1864–1865. V roce 1964 byl jmenován korespondentem Umělecko-průmyslového muzea. Soukromý docent fotografie na Technické univerzitě ve Vídni. V letech 1870-1885 byl prezidentem Fotografické společnosti („Photographischen Gesellschaft“) ve Vídni (od roku 1880 jejím čestný prezidentem). Majitel a vydavatel prestižního časopisu „Photographische Korrespondenz“. Autor několika příruček o fotografii.
English: PhDr. Emil Hornig (26 July 1828, Vienna - 5 January 1890) was an Austrian professor of chemistry at the Higher Secondary School in Wien-Landstraße and Dean of the Doctoral College of the Faculty of Arts from 1864 to 1865. In 1964 he was appointed correspondent of the Museum of Arts and Industry. Private lecturer in photography at the Technical University of Vienna. From 1870 to 1885 he was president of the Photographic Society ("Photographischen Gesellschaft") in Vienna (honorary president since 1880). Owner and publisher of the prestigious magazine "Photographische Korrespondenz". Author of several manuals on photography.
