Summary[edit]
DescriptionElizabeth Dauncey, by Hans Holbein the Younger.jpg |
English: Portrait study of Elizabeth Dauncey. Black and coloured chalks on paper, 37.1 × 28.2 cm, Royal Collection, Windsor.
Elizabeth Dauncey (b. 1506) was the second daughter of Thomas More. This drawing is one of seven fine surviving studies drawn by Holbein for his group portrait of Thomas More's family. The inscription, added much later, is demonstrably false. |
