Dette vaskeriet var i denne tiden det største i verden . Spesialister blandt arbeidslederne ble sendt til Australia for å hjelpe med å sette i gang med elemors vaskeprossess der. Det eneste kjente elemorsaparatet som er igjen i verden befiner seg ved gruvemuseet i Sulitjelma.
