DescriptionElectric summer tram (Notre-Dame street - Montreal, 1892).jpg |
English: Electric summer tram (1892)
The tram model pictured here was in service between 1892 and 1895. It was one of the first electric trams put into service in Montréal. As it was not closed, it was a summer model. At the front is the motorman; the conductor, seen on the side, collected fares. For many years, two employees were needed to operate each tram. However, a single employee would eventually come to perform both functions. |
