Bothtrains were crowded and the coachescaught fire following the crash. Manywere burned to death. Trackless Trolley Advocated byStreet Railway Director Charles R. Barnes, street railwaycommissioner at Rochester, N. Y., is anopen advocate of the trackless trolley.He has recommended vehicles of thistype to the City Council for use by theNew York State Railways for cross-town service.
