s.These are of the Henry type, all metal with white enam-eled hand grips, and arranged to be held back close tothe side of the car by spring pressure when not in use. Improvement in Folding Seats In order to increase the seating capacity during hoursof normal traflfic, hinged folding seats are used on eitherside of the door openings. In their raised position thesefolding seats serve as ends for the longitudinal seatsand a grab handle along the front edge enables stand-ing passengers to get a firm hold. These folding seatsare held in their raised position by a lock catch whichcan be released only by the aid of the key used for theend doors and the operators push-button box. Withthe seats in their down position a prop swings outfrom the under side and rests on the floor.
