As this in-volves the matter of auditing as well as that of opera-tion the discussion will be resumed at the next meetingwith auditing specialists present. Another topic wasthat of automobile truck competition, which was coveredby B. F. Curtis, traffic manager Norton Company,Worcester, who demonstrated that the trucking businesson the basis of freight rates is a losing proposition.Mr. Curtis believes strongly in trolley freight transpor-tation. H. C. Page, general manager Worcester Con-solidated Street Railway, and A. E. Stone, general man-ager Boston & Worcester Street Railway, expressedtheir belief that one of the rays of hope in the futureof the electric railway business is the possibility of ob-taining additional revenues from freight transportation.
