ween Buffalo and Niagara Falls was limited. All inall, however, it appears that the new line has developednew business for the company. The principal factors, of course, in the success of thenew line were the high running speed, permitting arunning time of one hour between Main and CourtStreets, Buffalo, and the Terminal Station at AmericanFalls, Niagara Falls; the frequency of the service; andthe wonderful scenic features of the route. Comparisons are com-plicated farther by the fact that the war situation andthe steps taken by the government to curtail passengertraffic on the steam roads operated partly to reduce the1918 summer traffic between Buffalo and Niagara Fallson the new line because the tourist traffic was curtailed. On the other hand, a certain advantage accrued to the trains on Sundays, holidays and other days of heavytraffic and two-car t
