ELECTRIC RAILWAY SERVICE issued Friday Jan. 11 Describes the book-keepingsystem. Efforts to Secure Uniform Boiler Laws THE American Uniform Boiler Law Society, ofwhich Thomas E. Durban, Erie, Pa., is chairman, iscontinuing actively to urge the legal adoption of theboiler code of the American Society of Mechanical En-gineers. The code has been adopted in California, In-diana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jer-sey, New York, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. TheBoiler Law Society hopes to secure favorable action bythe nine state legislatures that are to meet this year.Different plans are being followed in these severalstates, and the society will appreciate co-operation onthe part of electric railway men in securing recognitionof this code by legislatures. 134 Electric Railway J o u r n a i.
