| Description | Re-entered but not resealed "Elastaseal" firestop, consisting of common rockwool boards (called "silica fibre") and water-based rubber paint. The certification listings on this product only permit a maximum 1.1 ft² opening and very small cables. Other test reports used to qualify this product are for a different product not made by the manufacturer, as per Committee Transcripts: Select Committee on Hydro Nuclear Affairs - October 27, 1997 - Hydro Stakeholders. The code violations for the cable tray penetration, therefore, includes re-entry and not resealing as well as misuse of the product (bounding). Furthermore, the deck flutes have not been firestopped. Why firestop the opening if not the building joint? |
