El Azura, uno de los cruceros mas grandes del mundo, llegó este martes dia 4 de Mayo de 2010 al Puerto de la Luz en Las Palmas de Gran Canaria con 3.500 pasajeros y 1.200 tripulantes.

En este viaje inaugural por el Atlantico es el de salida de Southaptom, Lisboa, Santa Cruz de La Palma, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Funchal, Vigo y llegada de nuevo a Southamton. Los precios estimados para poder disfrutar de este hotel flotante oscilan de entre los 700 euros por pasajero a lo largo de siete días, hasta los 6.000 euros por pasajero con todo incluido en una suite a lo largo de tres semanas

El presidente de la Autoridad Portuaria de Las Palmas, Javier Sánchez Simón, y el capitán del Azura, Keith Dowds, protagonizaron el intercambio de metopas a bordo del mayor crucero turístico del mundo en un acto con el que se daba constancia de la primera llegada del Azura al puerto canario.

Con 289 metros de eslora, 36 metros de manga, y que costó para su fabricación alrededor de 308 millones de euros. El trasatlántico pertenece a la naviera P&O y está consignado por Hamilton y Cia.

Más de cinco restaurantes, la pantalla de televisión al aire libre en cubierta de un crucero más grande del mundo, un casino y un teatro con capacidad para 800 personas y tres sesiones diarias convierten al buque en uno de los más atractivos para el turismo británico.
