Summary[edit]

Description
English: Headquarters Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Naval Area hosted 22 young members of the ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’ programme coordinated by Yachting Association of India and the Tamil Nadu Sailing Association. Visits to Indian Naval Ship Ranjit and Naval Air Station Rajali were conducted for the youth from Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtra and Orissa with an aim to expose them to various facets of the Indian Navy. The members also witnessed performance of the Naval Symphonic Orchestra, Eastern Naval Command. The youth interacted with naval personnel during the visits and were briefed on life in the Navy and opportunities therein. The idea of a sustained and structured cultural connect between denizens of different regions was mooted by Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi during the ‘Ekta Divas’ held on 31 October 2015 to commemorate the birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
