Veteran Dies. Distinguished World War Fighter Succumbs to Illness. By Associated Press. New York City, New York; May 1, 1925. Mortimer Boyle, formerly lieutenant-colonel of the Three Hundred and Twenty-Eighth Infantry. Eighty-Second Division, died here today after an illness of fifteen months. He joined the Eighty-Second Division at Atlanta, Georgia as a captain in 1917, and after the Meuse-Argonne offensive, in which he was cited in divisional orders for gallantry, he was promoted to second in command of his regiment. Since the war he had been practicing law in this city. Mr. Boyle was founder of the Eighty-Second Division Association with headquarters in New York and its president for two years.
