English: early photograph of Eddystone Lighthouse, the Douglass's lighthouse that had been constructed in 1822 and is still standing as of 2017, located in Plymouth Sound and belonging to the city of Plymouth, Devon, South West England. To the left, the basis of Smeaton's Tower, which ceased operation in 1879 and the upper part of which was dismantled in 1882, to be rebuilt on a new base on Plymouth Hoe. |
