Placing Concrete: Concrete shall be placed immediately after mixingand any having an initial set shall be rejected. All concrete shall becarefully deposited in such manner that the stone and mortar will notseparate. When deposited in small quantities, the concrete shall notbe thrown directly against the forms, but so placed that the layer maybe worked along at its full thickness. As fast as the concrete is placedthe portion next to the forms shall be so treated by spading or othermeans, as to push back the stone and bring the mortar in thorough con-tact with the forms. The work shall be carried up in sections of con-venient length, and each section completed without intermission.
