Add a one-line explanation of what this file represents
Description The Gendarmenmarkt had been one of the elegant squares of prewar Berlin. It had not been rebuilt, 18 years after World War II. This is the French Cathedral (not really a cathedral), on the north end of the square. A similar building, the German Cathedral, is on the south end. The Schauspielhaus (theater) is between them.
