Summary[edit]
| Description |
English: East Cliff, West Bay, Dorset, England taken from West Pier, West Bay harbour. The cliff, which is rich in fossils, is part of the Jurassic Coast. Geologically the cliff is described as "the finest available outcrop of the Bridport Sands, overlain by Middle Jurassic Inferior Oolite and Fullers Earth".[1] and is "considered by geologists and geomorphologists to be one of the most significant teaching and research sites in the world".[2] The effects of a rockfall can be seen close to the centre of the image.
