| Description | Image of some of the first buildings and structures in Mukilteo, Washington, overlooking the Puget Sound. Written on the cardboard backing of photograph frame (photograph now removed from frame) in William Whitfield's handwriting is: "Wm Whitfield, Snohomish/Mukilteo,/ The County Seat of Snohomish County, in 1862." Mukilteo was the pro tem county seat in 1861 pending an election, which moved the seat to Snohomish in the same year. |
