Early Medieval Ear Scoop
Description
English: Early Saxon copper alloy ear-scoop consisting of an ovoid spoon-shaped bowl and an expanded pierced terminal at the ends of a shank with a braod median flute on both broad faces. Cf. MacGregor and Bolick 1993, 216-20. Length 44mm. Width of bowl and of terminal 6mm and 7.5mm. Thickness 1.5 - 1.8mm. c.450 - c.600.
