| Description |
English: E Class at Sheriff Street, Dublin The railway lines to Dublin's North Wall docks on the River Liffey were opened between 1864 and 1877. They served depots belonging to the City of Dublin Steam Packet Co, Midland Great Western Railway, London & North Western Railway and the Great Southern & Western Railway. With Irish Rail's flight from freight in the early years of the 21st century, all are now disused with much of the land redeveloped. One of CIE's 1961 built diesel hydraulic locomotives sits at Sheriff Street level crossing in the company of an ancient coach and some Guinness kegs. |
