This is the stone meteorite from which the previous microscopic photo of the crab was taken. Notice the black fusion crust, which is indicative of its entry into Earth's atmosphere.

Summary[edit]

Description
English: The elemental chemistry, conducted by CMU, along with independent XRF analysis, are indicative of the crawdad's extraterrestrial origins. Notice the larger crab & appendages above and behind the clear crab pincers.

This specimen, along with others, was recovered near Crested Butte, CO. Given that magnetite is one of the minerals found, these specimens will easily draw a rare-earth magnet. Magnetite & Hematite are phases of Iron (Fe) involved in the processes of organic & biological decomposition.
