Description
Español: Descripción del Escudo Paracotos

1.- La forma externa menos la parte superior es igual al Escudo del Estado Miranda, ello a que dicho Municipio forma del citado Escudo.

2.- El lazo así como la cinta representan la Bandera Nacional y es igual a la existencia del Escudo del Distrito Guaicaipuro, por formar parte el Municipio del señalado Distrito, y a las leyendas que lleva inserta lo siguiente:

a.- Cinco de Marzo de 1.673, fecha de la fundación de la población de Paracotos. b.- 16 de Septiembre de 1.904, fundación de la unidad Básica Paracotos. c.- 12 de Abril de 1.937, fundación de la Escuela Graduada “Alejandrina de Lugo” y 16 de noviembre de 1.983, aprobación del Escudo. d.- Bicentenario del Libertador de 1.983, y cuya leyenda por si sola se explica.

3.- El lazo así como las cintas escritas, enlazan igualmente 2 ramas; una del lado izquierdo que representa a café símbolo de las haciendas productoras de la región, y la otra del lado derecho, representa al lirio, lugar donde se elaboro el escudo y en cuyo sitio esa planta crece silvestremente.

4.- En la parte Superior del Escudo, una antorcha que representa el símbolo de los Juegos Panamericanos en homenaje al Libertador Simón Bolívar.

5.- El Escudo esta dividido en cuatro Cuarteles separados por una Banda Diagonal de color Amarillo y dentro de ella el nombre de la Población “Paracotos”.

6.- En el cuartel Superior está efigie del indio que dio origen al nombre de PARACOTOS y la Iglesia, sitio donde reposa el Acta de Defunción, considerada como el primer documento del pueblo.

7.- En el cuartel Derecho está representada la Agricultura y la ganadería de las que vivió la población de Paracotos, fundamentalmente hasta el año de 1.969.

8.- En el cuartel Izquierdo está representada la industrialización, con lo que se quiere significar la modificación económica que registro el Municipio Paracotos en el año 1.969.

9.- En el cuartel Inferior está la imagen del Arpa, alpargatas y maracas que representan la Música y el Folklore del Municipio.
