English: U.S. Army paratroopers assigned to Dog Company, 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade, listen to Lithuanian Land Forces 1st Lt. Domas Laukaitis, center, a Birstonas native assigned to the Juozas Vitkus Engineer Battalion, as he explains about the different devices and tactics the LLF employ when deploying counter-improvised explosive device (IED) in the field during Exercise Engineer Thunder 2015 held at the Great Lithuanian Hetman Jonusas Radvila Training Regiment, in Rukla, Lithuania, Sept. 9, 2015. To Laukaitis’s right are two Air Force Senior Airmen explosive ordinance disposal personnel who were also on hand to demonstrate how they handle IEDs and unexploded ordinance. The Soldiers of Dog Company are in Europe as part of Atlantic Resolve, a demonstration of continued U.S. commitment to the collective security of NATO and to enduring peace and stability in the region. U.S. Army Europe is leading Atlantic Resolve enhanced land force multinational training and security cooperation activities taking place across Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, and Bulgaria to ensure multinational interoperability, strengthen relationships among allied militaries, contribute to regional stability and demonstrate U.S. commitment to NATO.
