Description: Portrait of actress Dulcie Deamer. Dulcie (Mary Elizabeth Kathleen Dulcie) Deamer was born in Christchurch in 1890, daughter of George Edwin Deamer and Mabel (nee Reader). She appeared on the stage at a young age. In 1907 she married fellow actor, Albert Goldie. She pursued a career as a writer, actor and bohemian, and became well known around Sydney's Kings Cross. After leaving her husband in 1922, she became a journalist, poet and playright. She died in the Little Sisters of the Poor home in Randwick in 1972. (Description supplied with photograph)
