Description

Dugway buckwheat, Eriogonum nutans var. nutans, Nevada, White Mountains, Sugarloaf, Sugarloaf Canyon, Pinchot Creek - Columbus Salt Marsh watershed, elevation 2624 m (8610 ft).

This annual buckwheat is essentially endemic to the Great Basin of Nevada and adjacent eastern California, southeast Oregon, and western Utah. This location is near its southwestern limit and highest elevation, where it shows a preference for clay soils of volcanic origin.
