Drumeltan was a four-mast iron ship built in 1883 at Russel & Co, Greenock, for Gillison & Chadwick, Liverpool, rigged with double top-sails, single topgallant sails and royal sails. Re-rigged as a barque after a few years. Sailed as the Drumeltan (1883 — 1921), renamed the Margaret Overman (1921 — 1922) and lastly as the Brooklyn (1922 — 1936) when she was sunk in a collision off Bayonne, NJ, with the barge Newark on May 29 1936.
