Description

Pharr, Texas –A drug smuggler drove his vehicle into an irrigation canal on Tuesday, resulting in the arrest of a United States citizen and a Mexican national. The incident occurred when Weslaco Station agents saw several subjects loading bundles of narcotics into a vehicle. As agents approached, the driver fled the scene. Agents pursued the vehicle until the driver abruptly turned onto a dirt road and drove the vehicle into an irrigation canal. Agents surrounded the vehicle and assisted the driver and passenger to safety and placed them under arrest.
