Dansk: Illustration af Poul Steffensen til Carit Etlars roman Dronningens Vagtmester, der foregår under den Anden Karl Gustav-krig i 1658-1660. Gøngehøvdingen Svend Poulsen har hjulpet Elsebeth Buchwald, hendes datter Karen Kaas og nevøen Holger Rud med at flygte fra Gjorslev Slot til København. Her holder Elsebeth Buchwald et selskab, hvor hun fortæller, at Karen Kaas er blevet trolovet med Holger Rud. Men Karen Kaas er ikke orienteret og erklærer, at hun elsker en anden. Svend Poulsen træder frem og fortæller, at det er ham. Elsebeth Buchwald trækker så Karen Kaas væk. Svend Poulsen (ca. 1610 - ca. 1679) var en virkelig person, men historien er fiktion. Svend Poulsens udseende er også fantasi, for der kendes ingen portrætter af ham.
English: Illustration by Poul Steffensen from the Danish novel Dronningens Vagtmester by Carit Etlar which takes place during the Dano-Swedish War in 1658-1660. Svend Poulsen, Gøngehøvdingen, has helped Elsebeth Buchwald, her daughter Karen Kaas and the nephew Holger Rud in fleeing to Copenhagen. Here Elsebeth Buchwald hosts a party where she tells that Karen Kaas has been betrothed with Holger Rud. But Karen Kaas hasn't been informed and declares that she loves another. Svend Poulsen steps forward and tells that it is he. Elsebeth Buchwald then draws Karens Kaas away. Svend Poulsen (app. 1610 - app. 1679) was a real person but the story is fiction. The look of Svend Poulsen is also fantasy as there is no known portraits of him.
