Summary[edit]

Description Lot 3447-7: From the Channel of Suez. After the outbreak of the war, there were still a lot of dredging-machines in action, to deepen the ground of the channel in different places. All these dredgers have been removed since, so that the channel is finally determined to be choked with sand. Halftone image from the Booklet “The Great War in Pictures” showing the activities of the German armed forces during World War in 1915. These were intended for propaganda purposes. Published by “Deutscher Uberseedienst”, Berlin, Germany. Edited by Jos. Schumacher, published by Georg Stilke. (2015/10/16).
