| Description |
If you are one in a million, 4 of you live in the City of Los Angeles, another 6 in other parts of the County of Los Angeles, and another 14 are in the rest of Southern California. These are all big places, with lots of people and vast rural, even wild, spaces, as well. Northern California has fewer people, smaller cities, and roadless wilderness. All together, 40 million people live in California, 1/10 of the population of the United States. Like the United States, and many of the other States, California gains strength from putting the government in one, moderate sized, slightlly remote, location, while the majority of the population, business and professions are in separate, larger, metropolitan areas. Agriculture, fish and timber harvesting, and oil and mineral extractoin are networks laid over the urban skelton. Some oil is pumped from urban parts of Southern California, some fishing home-ports have other industries as well. |
