English: Sunday 6 April 2008. Morning snow astonished Londoners. Although by 10 am in Tottenham it seemed to be melting or turning to sleet.
_________________________________ The pathway leads to Down Lane Park and Tottenham Hale Station. Several weeks before, I'd complained about graffiti and litter at this location. Which led to considerable improvement. But it shouldn't need complaints from local councillors to achieve minimum standards - even down Tottenham's alleys. Especially, since behind the wall is the current location of Haringey's Reuse & Recycling Centre and some of the offices for Waste Management staff. A question also nags me about these snow-capped green bags. They're filled by street cleaners from Haringey Enterprise the Council's contractors, and await collection. But in many streets they seem to be left for long periods - sometimes overnight. Since we don't want residents dumping rubbish in the street - what "message" is given by these 'official' piles of bags? _______________________________ Links § Snowy Walk set. § Snowday London group.
