English: Diwan i Khas means Hall of private audience. Fatehpur Sikri is a town near Agra. It was built from 1571 to 1585 as a form of homage to the memory of great Sufi saint , Shaikh Salim Chisti by third Mughal emperor ,Akbar and stood as capital for some time in his empire. While administrating his empire, Akbar interacted and entertained his noble men and ministers in Diwan i Khas. It is also believed that this building was used as treasury. This magnificent monument is made with red sand stone and there is a huge and richly carved pillar in its center which attracts the most .Finding its name in the prestigious list of heritage monuments as laid down by the renowned organization, UNESCO, Fatehpur Sikri is today one of the greatest prides in Indian culture.
