The graph was computed based on two populations with different gene frequencies but does not always use "average" gene frequencies (i.e., p=0.3 and q=0.7) per se. When relying on a single locus, the probability starts at p but shows a steep decline as additional loci are taken into account. The shaded region represents the area under the curve, illuminating the cumulative reduction in misclassification. This empirical evaluation underscores the power of multi-loci genetic analysis in enhancing the precision of population-based gene assignments. |
