Locatie, Diakonievene. Natuurgebied van It Fryske Gea:
Diakonievene is a natural landscape near Nijeberkoop owned by the It Fryske Gea, the nature conservation authority in Frisia. Diakonievene was previously an area where poor people were allowed to harvest peat. The remaining pools after the peat excavation form large pingos. The area is surrounded by a dune wall with trees that gives the area a hilly appearance.
