Description
English: Central segment of the German Mining Museum, Bochum. Architect: Fritz Schupp. In the foreground there is the kinetic sculpture "Base Metals" by Prof. Ovis Wende, 1990. The winding tower was originally built for the Germania mine in Dortmund but was transferred to the museum in 1973. It has a height of 71.4 m and a mass of about 650 tons. There is a sign for the special exhibition on the Courrières mine disaster in 1906.
Deutsch: Zentraler Abschnitt des Hauptgebäudes vom Deutschen Bergbau-Museum Bochum, Architekt: Fritz Schupp. Im Vordergrund die kinetische Klangskulptur "Base Metals" von Prof. Ovis Wende, 1990. Das Fördergerüst Germania stammt ursprünglich vom Schacht II der Dortmunder Zeche Germania und wurde 1973 zum Bergbau-Museum verlegt. Es weist eine Gesamthöhe von 71,40 m auf und wiegt ca. 650 Tonnen. Ein großes Plakat verweist auf die Sonderausstellung zum Grubenunglück von Courrières 1906.
