Deutsch: Stolperstein für Dr. Rosa „Rosel“ Goldschmidt
Luisenstraße 6 63067 Offenbach Rosa Goldschmidt, genannt „Rosel“, wurde am 09. Februar 1895 in Offenbach am Main geboren und wuchs in der Luisenstraße 06 auf. Ihre Eltern waren Bernhard II. Goldschmidt (Fabrikant der Firma Gutmann, Lippmann) und Julia Goldschmidt, geb. Gutmann. Rosels ein Jahr jüngere Schwester hieß Karolina, sie wurde am 30. Mai 1896 ebenfalls in Offenbach geboren. Rosel Goldschmidt wurde Kinderärztin und verfasste zahlreiche wissenschaftliche Studien. Ihre wissenschaftlichen Schwerpunkte legte sie in die „Hygiene, Bakteriologie und Serologie“. Rosel Goldschmidt wechselte einige male ihren Wohnort: von 1920 bis 1926 arbeitete sie am Hygiene-Insititut der Universität Frankfurt. Danach wechselte sie an die Kinderklinik der Städtischen Krankenanstalten Dortmund. Von 1929 bis 1933 war sie an der Kinderklinik in Leipzig beschäftigt. Am 31. Juli 1933 wurde Rosel wie alle ihre jüdischen Kolleginnen und Kollegen fristlos entlassen. Für die Ärztinnen und Ärzte bedeutete dies, dass viele von ihnen bereits nach 1933 in erhebliche wirtschaftliche Not gerieten. Im November 1933 war Rosel Goldschmidt als wohnhaft in Paris gemeldet, im Dezember jedoch bereits wieder in Offenbach. 1937/1938 assistierte sie am jüdischen Krankenhaus in Berlin in der Iranischen Straße. 1938 verloren jüdische Ärzte dann endgültig ihre Approbation. Vermutlich war Rosel Goldschmidt danach in Offenbach sozial aktiv. Laut dem Nachlass von Siegfried Guggenheim regelte 1941 „Fräulein Dr. Goldschmidt“ die Sozialarbeit der Jüdischen Gemeinde Offenbach, die zu dem Zeitpunkt nur noch 280 Menschen zählte. Am 28. September 1942 wurde Rosel Goldschmidt nach Theresienstadt deportiert, am 12. Oktober 1944 erfolgte der Weitertransport nach Auschwitz. Am 4. Juli 1949 wurde sie für tot erklärt.
