Description
Deutsch: Der Denser See im nordosthessischen Landkreis Hersfeld-Rotenburg ist eine Doline die durch Auswaschungen der im Untergrund liegenden Salz- und Gipsschichten des Zechsteins entstand. Die Lösungsprozesse haben im Untergrund Hohlräume entstehen lassen, die durch Nachsacken der auflagernden Schollen des Deckgebirges ausgeglichen wurden. Später füllte sich der Erdeinbruch mit Wasser. Der See wurde zu einem Naturdenkmal erklärt und hat in der Liste der Naturdenkmale des Landkreises Hersfeld-Rotenburg die Nummer ND 632.603. Er wird auch als Biotop mit besonderer Bedeutung gesetzlich geschützt.
