Deutsch: Denkmal für die gestorbenen Soldaten aus Schönheide des Deutsch-Französischen Krieges von 1870 bis 1871: Platz an der Hauptstraße Schönheides, der westlich der Schule liegt, die in der zweiten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts in Geschwister-Scholl-Schule benannt wurde. Dieser Platz hieß in Erinnerung an den durch den teilweise aufgestauten Dorfbach gebildeten Teich vor dem heutigen Haus Hauptstraße 78 „Teichplatz“. Später wurde dieser Platz nach dem seit 1882 Jahrzehnte in Schönheide tätigen Gemeindevorsteher (= Bürgermeister) Gustav Haupt genannt „Gustav-Haupt-Platz“. Nach 1945 erhielt dieser Platz den Namen „Platz des Friedens“. Mit der Einführung neuer Hausnummern durch die Gemeinde Schönheide zum 1. Januar 1975 gab die Gemeinde diesen Namen des Platzes auf. Zuletzt ist Name Platz des Friedens im örtlichen Telefonbuch des Jahres 1952 nachweisbar. Auf diesem Platz errichtete die Gemeinde Schönheide für die im Krieg zwischen Deutschland und Frankreich 1870/1871 gestorbenen Soldaten aus Schönheide ein Denkmal. Auf historischen Ansichtskarten wird es als "Siegesdenkmal" bezeichnet. Es wurde nach dem Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs zerstört. Der genaue Zeitpunkt der Entfernung des Denkmals ist unbekannt. An dieses Denkmal erinnern historische Ansichtskarten und Amateurfotos, die noch im 21. Jahrhundert existieren. Sockel und Stele verwendete die Gemeinde Schönheide für das das Denkmal für die 30 am 14. April 1945 in Schönheide von SS-Leuten erschossenen KZ-Häftlinge. Es steht auf dem Alten Friedhof. (Nähere Beschreibung dort). Dieses Foto zeigt den Umbruch in der Schönheider Bebauung im ausgehenden 19. Jahrhundert: Kleine Häuser aus der frühen dörflichen Zeit und daneben die 1898 fertiggestellte Schule, die auch in ihren Dimensionen deutlich einen Bau aus der fortgeschrittenen Industralisierung verkörpert. Das kleine Haus rechts am Rand, die "Phillips-Bude", in der der Baumaterialienhändler Eduard Möckel Fußbodenplatten herstellen ließ, wurde Anfang der 1920er Jahre abgerissen. 1923 entstand an seiner Stelle das mehrgeschossige Gebäude einer Bank (Hauptstraße 76). |
