Description
English: Memorial of the brothers Erich und Axel, Count Taube, who died in the battle of Villiers on December 2, 1870. The memorial is located in Pleidelsheim, Germany, in front of the old town hall. The artist was Ludwig von Hofer (1801 - 1887)
Deutsch: Das Taubedenkmal ist ein Geschenk des Hofbildhauers Ludwig von Hofer (1801 - 1887) an die Stadt Pleidelsheim, den Geburtsort seines Vaters. Es wurde am 5. Juli 1885 in Anwesenheit des Künstlers vor dem alten Rathaus in einem Festakt enthüllt. Das in Carrara-Marmor gefertigte Kunstwerk stellt die beiden Brüder Graf Erich und Axel von Taube dar, welche gemeinsam am 2. Dezember 1870 in der Schlacht bei Villiers / Champigny fielen.
