Summary[edit]

Description

English

The Aspiring Student
Thus, a son of the Muses sets off after attending schools,
towards Mount Helicon, to seek greater honor,
His parents equip him with money and clothes,
He travels by mail coach, away from his father's house:
But with reminders and paternal teachings,
He shouldn't turn towards the world and its pleasures,
Be diligent, dear son, live peacefully and in tranquility,
And bring no shame upon our house, indeed.
