Summary[edit]
DescriptionDemolition of Larne (Town) station - 1974 (1) (geograph 3793756).jpg |
English: Demolition of Larne (Town) station - 1974 (1) Designed by Sir Charles Lanyon for the Carrickfergus & Larne Railway, the station at Larne (Town) opened in 1862. It closed in June 1974 as it was in the path of a road development, the railway line being moved out into Larne Lough and a new station opened on 24 June 1974. This view, looking towards Larne Harbour, shows the remains of the main buildings and the signal cabin. Due to the passage of time and elimination of all traces of this site, locations are approximate. |
