Description
English: Defrosted Margin of the North Polar Erg of Planum Boreum, or North Pole of Mars, observed by HiRISE on Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. The erg is a "sea of sand" that surrounds the north polar car. Polygonal dunes imply wind blowing from different directions over time.
