Socket block: This is where the user attached the socket and the only place where both beams are attached together.
Adjustment scale: Marked in units of torque, the triggering wedge is positioned to indicate the desired torque.
Triggering wedge: Specially shaped to trigger the pin at the correct torque regardless of where on the scale the desired torque is.
Pin mechanism: (EXACT MECHANISM LIKELY VARIES) The mechanism is likely a simple wedge or ball detent which is released when the triggering pin is pressed in by the triggering wedge.
Pressing the pin back in resets it.
Beam: Deflects as torque is applied, moving the adjustment scale and triggering wedge relative to the indicating beam. Eventually triggering the indicating mechanism.
