English: Crewmembers aboard the USS Bataan (LHD 5) (bottom) and the USS Laboon (DDG 58) (top) handle light messenger lines during the beginning of an underway replenishment in the Atlantic Ocean on April 24, 2005. Heavier lines will succeed the light messenger lines until cables are connecting the two ships. Refueling hoses and cargo will be sent across the cables to the receiving ship for the underway replenishment. |
