Mercy is operating off the coast of Banda Aceh, Sumatra, Indonesia, to provide medical assistance and disaster relief to the people of Indonesia affected by the devastating tsunami that hit Southeast Asia on Dec. 26, 2004. Firmandao was the first Indonesian patient treated onboard Mercy for a perforated appendix. |
