602’ LOA, 580’ LBP, 58’ beam, 32’ depth 1 deck, arch cargo hold construction, hatches @ 24’, coal-fired boilers, triple expansion engine, 2000 IHP

Enrolled at Port Huron MI Sept 14, 1906 (#7) 580.0 x 58.0 x 27.4, 7239 GT, 5419 NT US 203507 to: Cambria Steamship Co., Cleveland OH, M. A. Hanna & Co., Mgr. (home port Fairport OH)

Permanent enrollment at Cleveland OH Sept 18, 1906 (#28)

Entered service Sept 24, 1906 clearing Bay City MI for Lake Superior

Fleet transferred 1927 to management of Bethlehem Transportation Corporation, Cleveland OH, H. K. Oakes, Mgr. (home port to Wilmington DE)

Remeasured 1944 to 586.5 x 58.2 x 27.4, 7763 GT, 6216 NT

Repowered 1956 with Skinner Unaflow engine

Foundered Nov 29, 1966 in storm 26 miles northeast of Harbor Beach MI, Lake Huron. 28 of 29 aboard lost. (Her sister ship and fleetmate Edward Y. Townsend suffered a cracked hull in the same storm and ended her career.)
