English: Eight-coupled tank locomotives sabotaged on the Lüderitz Railway, after retreating German forces destroyed sections of the Railway in 1914 when the Union Defence Force invaded German South West Africa during World War I. Part of the Otavi railway line from Swakopmund to Rössing as well as the Swakopmund-to-Windhoek line at Jakkalswater were also destroyed to delay the advance of the South Africans. |
