Description
Deutsch: Trajektschiff "DGV 1", Schraubendampfer, gebaut 1890 von Escher Wyss, Zürich, für die Dampfschiffahrtsgesellschaft des Vierwaldstätters (DGV). Trajektbetrieb wurde 1920 eingestellt, das Schiff 1923 nach Deutschland verkauft. Die Aufnahme zeigt die "DGV 1" mit einem Zeltaufbau als Zielschiff für eine Ruderregatta in Luzern kurz vor dem Ersten Weltkrieg.
English: Train ferry "DGV 1" (propeller steamer), built in 1890 by Escher Wyss, Zürich, for the "Dampfschiffahrtsgesellschaft des Vierwaldstättersees" (DGV, steam shipping company of Lake Lucerne). The train ferry service was discontinued in 1920 and the ship sold to Germany in 1923. This photo depicts the "DGV 1" with a tent installation as target ship for a rowing regatta in Lucerne a short time before World War I.
